Born in Brixen in South Tyrol, the tenor studied at the JJF-Conservatory Graz with Natela Nicoli and has won several competitions such as "Feruccio Tagliavini" 2015 (3rd place, Audience, Critics, Tenor Award) and "Accademia Belcanto" (3rd place 2013, 1st place 2014) and "AIMS Meistersinger - Competition" Graz 2018 (Honorary Prize of the Jury).
Rounding off his studies, he attended master classes, among others with Kurt Widmer, Francisco Araiza, Giacomo Aragall, Angelika Kirchschlager, David Brook, Linda Watson, Gabriele Lechner and Eteri Lamoris.
He is in demand as a performer on the opera and operetta stage: for example as Primo Sacerdote (Il Prigionero - Dallapiccola) and First Jew (Salome - R. Strauss) at the Graz Opera; as Alfred (Fledermaus - Strauß) at the Teatro Comunale di Bolzano; as Jan Janicki (Bettelstudent - Millöcker) on a tour through Germany of the Johann Strauss Operetta Vienna; as Duke of Mantova (Rigoletto - Verdi) in Mautern; as Nicolas (Nicolascantata - Britten) in the Franciscan monastery Graz; as Nemorino (L'elisir d'amore - Donizetti), Tamino (Zauberflöte – Mozart) in Graz, Boni (Csardasfürstin - Kálmán) and Zsupan (Mariza - Kálmán), Dr. Siedler (Im weisen Rössl - Benatzky), Stanislaus (Vogelhändler - Zeller), Caramello (Nacht in Venedig - Strauß) and Alfred (Fledermaus - Strauß) at the South Tyrolean Operetta Festival; as Quint and Prolog (The turn of the screw - Britten), Max (Freischütz - von Weber) and Monostatos (Zauberflöte - Mozart) at MUMUTH Graz; as Edwin (Csardasfürstin - Kálmán) at Schloss Kittsee and at the Operettenspiele Murau; as Gustl (Frühjahrsparade - Stolz) at the Kasematten Graz and as Don Curzio (Nozze di Figaro - Mozart) at the Schloss Kirchstetten.
His extensive concert activity led the tenor to various festivals throughout Europe. Among others, he sang the following works: "WINTERREISE" (Schubert), "ELIAS" (Mendelssohn), "REQUIEM" (Mozart), "DIE SCHÖPFUNG" and "STABAT MATER" (Haydn) and "PETITE MESSE SOLENNELLE" (Rossini).
In 2019 Roman Pichler will perform as Adam in the operetta "DER VOGELHÄNDLER" by Carl Zeller at the MUKO Oper Leipzig and as Raoul de Gardefeu in "PARISER LEBEN" by Offenbach at the South Tyrolean Operetta Festival in Bolzano and Bressanone. The studied architect currently lives with his family in Sinabelkirchen near Graz (AUT).
